What is the fundamental principle for organizing website design? meeting users needs

List the five basic steps to organizing information.

  • Divide your content into logical units
  • Establish a hierarchy of importance among the units
  • Use the hierarchy to structure relations among units
  • Build a site that closely follows your information structure
  • Analyze the functional and aesthetic success of your system

Briefly describe the three essential structures for organizing websites.

  • Sequences: to list information in cronological order
  • Hierarchies: the best way (most organized)
  • Webs: very free easy to get around

What is the risk of “eye candy”? you cant build a website on one piece of eye candy

How might programmers utilize site diagrams as they move a new website project from planning to production? in a web or hierararchy

How does the concept “above the fold” impact page design decisions? you want the interesting information towards the top

The aqufina website uses all the elements of design. It uses contrast by having different shades of blue to indicate different places to navigate. It uses repetition by having all the colors of blue, only in different shades. It uses alignment by having all the things in one general area, not all over the page. It uses proximity by having all related items together.

I am creating a webpage for a lanscape architect. My background color would be #7DAD79. My navigation color would be #5C8059. My text color would be #B7CC8F. My main color for the banner and other key images would be #5A817B. I used an analogous color scheme because it efficiently shows the different areas of the site.

Below is my color scheme.
